systems, now known as USM, provides us with the opportunity to reorder
the universe with a comprehensive modular program consisting of chrome
tubes and metal panels.

  For
the last 50 years there has been no end to the solutions offered by
this timeless system of expansion bolts, connector balls, tubes and
steel panels-a set of elements that offer permutations that are virtually indestructible.
No other design has begun to match the versatility, elegance, and strength of USM Haller.
 Developed
in the early 1960s, Haller has become a staple in both contract and
residential environments throughout Europe and Japan, from libraries to hospitals... to boardrooms and bedrooms.
  Fritz
Haller, a Swiss architect, developed this modular system. Trained by Gropius, the famed Bauhaus architect and teacher,
Haller carried on the Bauhuas commitment to stripping away from design extraneous matter and reducing its forms to their
functional beauty.
Haller developed this modular system of tubes and panels in concert with
the industrial and residential buildings that he designed through the end of the 20th century.
His visionary design has withstood the test of time and fostered an
unrivaled reputation among architects and professionals.

At modern artifacts we are proud to offer USM, Haller to a much wider and
growing audience of consumers fed up with crumbling particle board and
faded fancies predictably gathered in dumpsters bulging with our bad choices.

Interiors reflect our relationship with the natural world. For those who consider their interior space an extension of an environment now in need of serious attention, there simply is no substitute.
